Why a commercial digital marketing background led us to focus on charities — and how that background still shapes the way we work.
Our agency has been built on marketing knowledge — and specifically digital marketing — since 2008. For nearly 20 years, we've worked with cutting-edge technology creators, and since 2020 we've developed commercial digital marketing specifically around lead generation, product development, e-commerce and sales.
After becoming Christian, my wife and I made a decision: to focus our efforts on supporting Christian charities. Specifically, that means working in the areas of education and development, and creating real value within the charity structure — products, services and educational strategies that appeal to donors and support the growth of the organisation.
This is particularly valuable for charities that have products and tools they're able to sell or transact, including events that need exposure. Whether it's a course, a resource, a physical product or a conference, our job is to make sure the right people find it.
We've found three approaches work together far more effectively than any one alone:
The skill, in our experience, lies less in the channels themselves and more in identifying and creating the specific keywords, doing the research properly, and building content that genuinely attracts the right people. That groundwork is essential — without it, even a generous ad budget attracts the wrong audience.
Our work in the commercial sector continues alongside our charity work. We work with a number of membership organisations and commercial businesses, and that continuous push for improvement keeps our knowledge and understanding of the market and technology growing.
It's also, quite practically, part of how we're able to offer our rates to Christian charities at £36 per hour — our commercial work helps subsidise the time we give to the charity sector.
